OpenAcademy™ FAQs

Registration: Course registration is capped at 24 seats, so please register early!  To simplify registration for our students, online registration is available through our website.  Once you have completed your registration, you will receive an email from events@regonline.com confirming your registration. This confirmation will include the course name, date(s), time(s), location and contact information for the Academy.   Additional administrative information is included below as well as links to local travel information and directions.  Please email the Academy at info@intellacademy.com if you have any additional questions regarding your course.

Discounts:

  • We offer multi-course discounts for individuals, 2.5% per course for an individual registering for two or more courses.  If you are registering for more than one course, contact us for discount codes advising how many courses you are registering for.  We will email you a discount code for each course. Once you have the discount codes, select “Individual Registration” during the on-line registration process and enter the discount code for the first course.  You will have to register for each course via a separate registration and discount code, however, the system is very user friendly and sets up a profile for you so you will not have to re-enter all of your personal information each time.
  • USGIF members will receive a 10% discount for any of the OpenAcademy™ courses offered.  No discount code is needed when registering online.  Select “USGIF member registration” under the registration options. The discounted fee is displayed.
  • U.S. Military members will receive a 10% discount for any of the OpenAcademy™ courses offered.  No discount code is needed when registering online.  Select “Military” under the registration options. The discounted fee is displayed.
  • Groups of 4 or more from a single entity will each receive a discount of 10% each for a single course.  All members of a group must be registered at the same time to receive the discount.  No discount code is needed for group registration.  The individual processing the registrations for the group should register the first individual by selecting ”individual registration”. After completing the individual’s information there will be an option at the bottom of the page “Add Another Person.”  Select this option to complete the next individual’s registration. You will enter the next individual’s email address and select continue. The next page will have populated with the same company, address, and phone as used for the first individual, and there will be a few fields to complete for the new registrant.  Then choose the “Add Another Person” option again. Once you’ve completed all of the registrations, select “Continue.” If you’ve reached 4 or more registrations,  you will see a summary page showing the 10% discount received per registration. You will see this before you enter your credit card information.

Location: OpenAcademy™ Courses are held at the Intelligence and Security Academy’s offices at 1890 Preston White Drive, Suite 250, Reston, Virginia 20191.

Schedule: Doors open at the Academy at 7:45 am. A light continental breakfast will be provided daily for all courses between 7:45 and 8:30 am.  Course instruction will begin at 8:30 am for all courses.  Lunch will be provided. Half-day courses will end by 1 pm and full-day courses will end by 4:30 pm.

Kitchen Accommodations:
If you have food allergies and/or prefer to bring your own breakfast or lunch, our student kitchen has a full size refrigerator. We also have a microwave and toaster available.

Attire: Appropriate attire for attending courses is business casual.  We do suggest that you bring a sweater or light jacket as it is sometimes difficult to maintain a temperature that is pleasing to all.

Cancellation Policy: Open Academy™ courses are limited in enrollment to provide an optimal learning experience for attendees. However, if a course falls below our minimum enrollment we reserve the right to cancel, and will do so no less than 7 business days in advance of class and will notify students via contact info provided when you complete your registration. A full refund will be provided or a student may choose to reschedule to another running of the course or credit the payment towards one of our other courses offered.

Our student cancellation policy is as follows:

  1. Any cancellation made after registration is processed but prior to 7 business days before the 1st day of class will be billed a 10% administrative fee & the remainder refunded.
  2. Any cancellation made 7 or less business days prior to the 1st day of class will be charged a 50% cancellation fee & the remainder refunded.
  3. No reimbursements will be made for no-shows or for cancellations received once the course has begun.
